3. DON GRUMPY ELEPHANT

Sitting in a shadow

there was a kitten

it was hot outside

and he did not like that.

He has gone to sleep

he had been sleeping for a while

when someone over there

growled and woke him up.

He has opened a little eye

and immediately found

the one who had growled

and asked.

― Don elephant, what’s wrong?

Why were you growling?

Haven´t you realised

that I am sleeping here?

The elephant looked at him

and quickly asked

― Who said that I was growling?

Who has been so daring?

The little one got up

and immediately answered

― I heard you growl

the one who said it was me.

The angry elephant

answered the kitten

― Go elsewhere

I want this shade.

― No! ― the kitten says ―,

here I got first

and if you want my shadow

I will be your partner.

Amazed, the elephant

looked at the kitten

and he tried to hug the kitten

with his horn.

― Don’t you dare ― he said.

I would not like to get angry.

and showed his nails

which were very sharp.

The elephant looked at them

and resigned he said

― We will share the shade

― And he would stay with him.

4. THE SNAIL AND THE CLOUD

One early morning

a snail was standing

looking at the sky

when a cloud passed.

― I’m going to take advantage now

surely later that

that cloud that is coming

will rain here.

The cloud that listened to

the snail said

― Today I will not fall

have a nice day.

The surprised snail

asked the cloud

― Why are you going somewhere else?

― And the cloud answered.

― Because if I stay here

I will start raining

and I heard you before

― And it began to move.

The thoughtful snail

said to the cloud

― But stop for a moment

― But the cloud went away.

An cat who approached

the snail asked

who he was talking to

because when he came he heard him.

― I was talking to that cloud

the one that was there

I asked her to stay

and she preferred to go away.

― It´s better ― the kitten said ―,

so we won’t be wet

and this beautiful sun

will be here for us.

The thoughtful snail

has stayed a little bit there

he doesn’t know why

the cloud has left.

The cat is laughing

and I said to the snail

― Do not worry friend

surely the cloud will come another day

» But today, it is windy

and the cloud couldn’t stay here

the wind drags her, even if she doesn’t want to

and it can´t be stopped.

The silent snail

has stayed sunbathing there

the kitten stays with him

lying next to him.

5. THE SNAIL AND THE RAINBOW

Hidden in his little house

there was a big snail

it was raining outside

and he listened to it from there

A lot of time has passed

he was bored

he was tired of waiting

and he fell asleep.

He’s been a long time

and when he woke up

it seems to have stopped

and he looked out to see it.

One horn, then the other

the snail has taken

he was very surprised

of what he has contemplated.

In the sky, there was a rainbow

which he looked at astonished

― What beautiful colors!

― he immediately exclaimed.

He has stuck his head out

and the whole body

is there contemplating

standing still.

How beautiful it is!

he has never seen anything like it

the snail is not tired

of contemplating that.

The night is getting closer

there was almost no light

but that rainbow

would be in the sky.

The astonished snail

does nothing more than watch

when someone gets to his side

someone will ask him.

― Have you never seen something like this?

He got a little scared

because he was entertained

and he did not listen to him.

With a little eye he has looked

to the one who asked him questions

then he answered

and so he informed him.

― I spent a lot of time

and I never saw anything like it

a rainbow like this one

is gorgeous.

― It’s true ― the other animal said

who was at his side.

It was a little kitty

that was asking another thing

― That you spent a lot of time?

Did you just tell me that?

but you are very small

or this seems to me.

The big snail looked at him

and he said seriously

― You see how big my house is!

and it was never empty.

― I do not understand what you say

― the kitten replied.

The patient snail

again told him.

― My house says

that I have spent a lot of time working

that’s how I built it

and moving forward patiently.

― Now I understand you

― the little one answered ―,

it took you a long time

and it’s a pretty house I think.

The happy snail

told the kitten

― Go to your house

that the day is ending.

― Well, but I’ll be back

to visit you another day

― the kitten said

while he was running fast.

It has started to rain

and he didn’t want to get wet

the snail will come

to his house quickly

― You are heavy ― he said ―,

but how comfortable I am!

here in my house

where I get without delay.
