This is a historical novel set in Paris. A novel in the series about the Scarlet Pimpernel's adventures. It is Paris, 1794, Robespierre at this time is at the height of his popularity and his power. His revolution is inflicting its reign of terror on nobles, aristocrats, royalists, and traitors. The elusive Scarlet Pimpernel is still being hunted. Robespierre becomes paranoid about the Pimpernel and must have him destroyed.
