This work presents a report by George Warren Wood, a 19th-century Presbyterian minister and missionary. Here he gives a concise account of his mission to Choctaw in Oklahoma to resolve a crisis over the abolition issue. Wood visited the Goodwater Mission, Wheelock Academy, Spencer Academy, and other mission schools. In addition, he met with missionaries to talk about Selah B Treat's June 22, 1848 letter authorizing them to maintain fellowship with slaveholders. Yet, he could not resolve the crisis, and by 1859, the Board cut ties to the Choctaw mission entirely.
