Preface:

The author of the electronic book ”Ivanka Ivanova’s Songs”-part one,is the Pazardzhik fok singer Ivanka Ivanova. Recently,in July 2012,she published another electronic book - “A Folklore Dedication”, which was the first effort of the professional folk singer in introducing the readers to the technique and breathing in singing BG traditional folk songs, the specifics of the Bulgarian folk regions, national costumes and the specifics of the BG time and rhythm. In “Folklore Dedication” the author introduces 21 folk songs,11 of which are part of her own repertoire. The songs in the book are presented with texts and notes, connected with the appropriate links, where it is possible to hear the original sounds of each song.”Ivanka Ivanova’s songs” - part one is the next step in her goal to make those tempted by Bulgarian folklore acquainted with her repertoire of Pazardzhik folk songs, recorded in different radios,TV channels and on CDs. She is going to publish a few collections with songs with notes and texts.

Here, in the first part, which is in front of you,she introduces 44 of her own folk songs, classified by type and with explanations of the loan-words,unfamiliar words, and dialectal words. The folk songs included are of several types: of the everyday life, historical love songs, working bee, labour - harvesting and heroic songs.

The songs of the CDs are produced by ACM,New Jersey, USA,and you can find them online
