Journals of Two Expeditions into the Interior of New South Wales

This work explores the two expeditions of John Oxley to New South Wales, a state on the east coast of Australia. Oxley was a traveler and surveyor of Australia during the earlier period of British colonization. He served as Surveyor-General of New South Wales and is famous for his two expeditions into the interior of New South Wales.

Oxley was appointed surveyor-general of New South Wales and, after retiring from the navy, he returned to Sydney in 1812. He then explored as much land as he had surveyed during the early years. Two Expeditions into the Interior of New South Wales was the first report on the area and provided the basis for explorations by later travelers.
