Chapter IV
The author tells us about Mildendo, the capital of Lilliput, and its palace of the emperor. He had a talk with the principal secretary, who told him about their problems. The author offers his help.
After I was free, I asked if I could visit Mildendo, the big city. The emperor said yes, but he told me to be careful with people and their homes. They told people that I would come.
The city had awall around it, two and a half feet high, so it was safe. I entered through the big gate and walked carefully through the main streets. I was careful not to step on anyone; even though everyone was in their houses, they watched me from their windows. The city was so small, I couldn't even walk along some streets with my size. There lived five hundred thousand people, with small houses and a lot of shops and markets.
