Christmas Carols In Old America
Kitap hakkında
Discover the true story behind the melodies that have made the American Christmas immortal. What lies behind songs like ”White Christmas,” ”Jingle Bells,” or ”Blue Christmas”? Far more than just musical notes, these tracks contain the beating heart of an entire nation—a nation revealed through its historical transformations, its dreams, and its contradictions. In this passionate essay, Patrizia Barrera takes us on a journey through time and the memory of ”old America,” exploring the golden thirty-year period (1930–1960) when Christmas music shaped global pop culture. Within these pages, you will discover the human stories—often moving or unexpected—of the songwriters, composers, and performers who transformed nostalgia into legend.
