"The Queen of Sheba, and My Cousin the Colonel" is a romance novel set in the village of Rivermouth. Edward Lynde, a young orphan, left with few relations to turn to. When he goes to live with his uncle, David Lynde, a successful banker albeit an unmarried one, he hopes to learn the trade and succeed in life. But when Uncle David decided to marry his housekeeper, Edward's life becomes a miserable existence due to his new aunt's dislike of him. Edward therefore flees to the village of Rivermouth, where he accepts a job as a pay teller in a bank. And as he settles into town, his life is about to take a new twist when a beautiful woman takes his fancy…
