Gerbil species at a glance?

The best-known species is the Mongolian gerbil. But there are other types as well.

Bushtail Gerbil:These mice are particularly sociable and very active. The name comes from their large and bushy tail. Libyan Gerbil:This species is one of the largest in existence. For this reason, it is kept less as a pet. However, these gerbils get along very well with other animals of their kind. Persian Gerbil:These gerbils are very easy to tame, making them ideal pets. They are also crepuscular and like to climb. Sundevall Gerbil: These mice are also very active and easy to tame, making them ideal pets. Arabian Gerbil: These animals are a lot smaller and therefore faster. They can also be quite shy, making them difficult to tame. Fat sand rat: Another popular pet species is the fat sand rat. One of the reasons for this is that these gerbils like to play a lot and are not that shy, so they are easy to tame. Kösen's gerbil: Compared to the other species, these gerbils are particularly calm and therefore easy to keep.
