Three Days on the Ohio River

In this work, William A. Alcott wrote about his journey from Cincinnati to Pittsburg by the Ohio River. He explained that he was aware that it was not the nearest, easiest, or cheapest way. Still, he wished to see the country through which the river ran because he had read a lot about the beautiful Ohio River, with its many towns and villages. This curiosity to witness it himself took him on an adventurous journey on a steamboat to Pittsburg.

Alcott tells about his observations of the people of different ethnicities he witnessed during the trip. He includes fascinating descriptions of the place and takes the readers on a journey with him through his skillful imagery.
