The bear came to the hill as soon as the first star appeared. The grandfather was waiting for him.
“Look, he said, over there where three bright stars are shining, that is the head of the Big Dipper, and those stars are it’s body. This constellation is sometimes called the big ladle, nearby is a little bucket, you see, it is called Little Dipper”
“Does that mean, there are no bears in the sky?”
“There are, but these are star bears, our keepers, and our mascot. While these stars shine, bears will exist”.
“Will they ever go out?”
“They will not go out for a very long time, it is nothing for you to worry about, and if you look very carefully you will see bears”
The little bear looked, looked again and then looked once more … and then he really saw them!
“It is so good that there are bears in the sky too!” He felt so happy knowing that there were bears in the sky he clung to his grandfather.
